Modern Regional Journalism - Mid career Course August 2007
Mid Career Course on the theme ' Modern Regional Journalism ' was conducted by Mr.Clas Thor from FOJO Kalmar Sweden at the MRTC of the Universtiy of Jaffna from the 6th to the 10th of August 2007. The 16 participants are seen together with the Master Trainer Mr.Clas Thor, Director of the MRTC Prof.A.Sanmugadass and Academic Coordinator Rev.Fr.Ruban Mariampillai who acted as co- traininer and interpreter of the above Mid career course.

' Pillai Speaks '

This Blog by name ‘Pillai Speaks’ belongs to Rev. Fr. Ruban Mariampillai - a Roman Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Jaffna Sri Lanka.

He is a qualified Journalist with a Masters Degree in Journalism based with a Certificate in Journalism and a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism.

He is a freelance journalist who reports news to all the news papers in Sri Lanka. He has written more than 500 articles in all the news papers of the North. Beside these writings he has authored 8 books in Tamil and controbuted to the growth of Tamil Journalism in Sri Lanka.

He has worked as an academic coordinator of the Media Resources and Training Centre of the Universstiy of Jaffna from 2005 to 2008.While working as an academic
coordinator of the Media Resources and Training Centre fo the university of Jaffna he was awarded with a scholarship of the University of Jaffna to do a postgraduate Media degree in UK in the academic year 2008 - 2009.
